Small Successes

My life has changed dramatically this month. It's a huge blessing to have such a heavenly baby in our home. But it also comes with many challenges. I am at a point in my life where I have to celebrate my small successes because I feel like I don't "accomplish" a lot during the day. But when I look at it, I am raising daughters and that is huge.

the kids woke up around 7:30. i needed a bit more sleep so they played together in their room while cambree and i slept until 8:00. i rushed downstairs, made oatmeal for the girls and fed the crying baby. we got ready...all of us...including me. it's been days since i've done my hair or put "real" clothes on. it's been so long in fact that when katelyn saw me she said, "mom i love your hair and pretty clothes." that right there was a huge success! i threw some laundry in the washer and we rushed over to the library for storytime. we saw a few friends there so that was a happy surprise. we pick out books and then came home. i made lunch for the girls really fast and fed the baby again. allie got ready for school and we took her and eli to kinder.
allie gets a fairy book everytime we go to the library.

beeping books is the best part!

cambree fell asleep in the car so when we came home, i read katelyn "the pants book" and sang her a song, tucked her in for a nap and ran downstairs to get the now screaming baby out of the carseat. i snuggled her for awhile and she fell back asleep. i should have taken a nap but the dishes were there screaming at me so i did those and then caught up on the blog. then i changed the laundry (score...i usually forget about it) and fed the baby again and watched a cupcake show.
evidence of my hair done and some makeup on and my favorite thing...snuggling this sweetie!

katelyn woke up from her nap at the same time Allie was coming in from school. what an awesome blessing!! we watched 2 cupcake shows together. the girls loved it. they made a 9 foot guitar made out of mini cupcakes and they glowed in the dark for a sweet 16 party. um, super cool. doug got home and we heated up some leftover pizza and made a salad for dinner. then we made pizzookies for the first time. i got a skillet from one of my friends for christmas. the girls were very impressed and we were taken back to logan, ut when we would eat them at firehouse pizza all the time. this could be trouble having access to these at any given time! bathtime followed by allie making flashcards of her sight words and katelyn dancing around the house.  clean up then books from the library, prayers, songs, and kisses...my favorite time of the night and also the hardest. why don't they ever want to go to sleep!? i always want to.

doug went hometeaching, one of my young women brought me dr. pepper and pear jelly belly's...my favorites. and now it's time to snuggle up and crash.

i miss exercise. the one thing on my to do list was to go on a walk. didn't check it off. it has yet to happen. someday. but today i will celebrate the fact that i got ready, took my kids to storytime, made them meals, and didn't yell at them. happy kids today means that i did accomplish something great.

I so love this! Having 3 is hard (3, 3 and under is killing me!). But I also try to celebrate and relish in the small victories of the day and sweet tender mercies. Do I always get dinner on the table? No. Do my kids sometimes watch a little too many shows? Yes! But at the end of day we are happy, healthy, and they still love me and give me sweet hugs and kisses, and that makes me a success! You're doing great, Momma! Love you guys!
