Little Ski Bunnies

We did it! We took the kiddos to Bogus Basin to try skiing. My sweet friend let us borrow her boots and ski and we figured both the girls could use them. WRONG. They both had total meltdowns, crying and screaming on the hill. Doug and I were like, "Awesome, we drove up here and now we get to just go right home." But we thought we'd have them try some boots and skis on in the rental shop and see how it went. The minute they tried those on they were happy as can be and really excited! So we tried again. They had a blast. Allie did really well and this is a great age for her to start. Katelyn didn't understand why we had to help her. She was ready to just do it all herself...yikes! We'll wait a few years for her to go again! We are glad we tried it even though it was crazy. Hope to make skiers out of our girls so it can be a fun wholesome family activity we can all enjoy someday.
A beautiful day at Bogus Basin
"I hate these shoes."
Imagine screaming...
Hating it but can't help but smile because it really is fun even if it hurts!
She quit and did snow angels instead!
Allie all ready to go!

She did awesome!

Katelyn had a hard time staying with Doug so he had to pick her up!
Wiped out!
This was a sweet moment I caught!
Happy to be free!
Super proud of herself
All done. We all survived!
Cambree slept the entire time! What a sweet little babe.

Cascade

Our friends, Dana and Jason, invited us to Cascade for the weekend. We've never been able to go up with them and having a 4 week old baby wasn't the most ideal time in my mind to go, but we decided to go anyway. Cambree was a champ! She did great. The kids on the other hand could NOT fall asleep so they stayed up way late (which is fine with me once in awhile) but then Katelyn woke up at 3:00 and just didn't go back to bed. She just walked around the dinner table for awhile, laid in bed with us and the next day they were a wee bit on edge. They cried about a lot of stuff! But we had ourselves a great time. The girls went sledding (Allie sprained her ankle but is fine) and the men made a snow fort. We went and played on the frozen lake and "skated." We played games and ate good food and mostly just had an awesome time with our friends the Delgadillos, Beckers, and Krista! It was also great to get out of the gross inversion in Boise and see the sun and blue skies again!
Katelyn enjoyed pushing Doug on the sled far more than sledding herself!
Katelyn was being grumpy on the lake.

Cute little ice skaters
Serious about the "cell phone game."

January Happenings

New Year's Eve: This was 2 days after having Cambree so we were tired!! But we had a little celebration and it was even more fun because my parents were here. We had glowsticks and karaoke. Doesn't get much better than that! My dad found a countdown and we pretended it was midnight when it was really only 8:00 or something. Then we all crashed. Party animals!
My dad bought masks at the dollar store and Allie wore hers for a long time and was sweating in it...it dyed her face pink!!

My parents came and helped watch the girls, clean, cook, and hold Cambree for us. They were heaven sent and I cried the day they left...a lot!!

January was centered around our sweet little sister! She is such a joy and a great baby. We are all completely in love with her!
Dad has his hands full with THREE girls!
They love to help us pick out her clothes and watch her get dressed! They are both such good helpers when mom needs them to grab a burp cloth or diaper! I'm grateful and hope it continues!
Such a sleepy girl...unless mom lays down to take a nap and then this happens:
WIDE AWAKE!
Allie made her a little bracelet.
Her newborn clothes are huge on her. She has Urkel pants here!
They always want to hold her and are getting very good at it!
Cambree met her Great Grandma Dunn on Sunday, January 26. It was very special.

We celebrated Civil Rights day with our tradition of Oreo (black + white) ice cream. Always a good time except we didn't have friends over this year!

Random things
My best friend Lyndsay sent me these goodies. She knows me well!
We received so many meals and gifts from friends. Here we are enjoying homemade bread and jam!
My OCD is screaming inside because I can't keep up with my house when there is a baby to snuggle all day!
Although I did find time to bake once this month...the most perfect chocolate chip cookies
And we still found time to have a date. We did take out and watched "Sherlock." This was the same day I found out I had retained placenta and went on antibiotics. Doing great now!
Allie made jewelry from her Christmas present from Aunt Amy.
Katelyn took a field trip to Fred Meyer and learned about produce, seafood, and the bakery.
Allie's greatest dream came true when mom bought her a MAXI SKIRT!!
And bathtime is still the best, especially when there are bubbles involved and bearded ladies.

I think that sums it up!
