Kindergarten

It happened...the day this girl has been looking forward to for well over a year: Kindergarten!!
She laid her clothes out last night, even with the shoes (haha) and it was the longest morning of her life. She goes in the afternoon which doesn't start until 12:45. Once it was time for pictures she was more of a nut than I was (hard to imagine). She wanted pictures in all of these spots...
This is my favorite picture ever. I just said, "Do a silly picture together" and this is what they both did!
She wanted one with me (melt my heart) and it's super close-up but I will treasure it forever. Look how grown up she is.
We applied to a Charter School which enrolls by lottery. Her name wasn't picked but she is now 8th on the list to get in. If she does we will transfer there. But for now she goes to Desert Sage Elementary.
They had the kids line up outside which means I didn't get to go in and see her! What!? She was first in line, with confidence oozing out of her. She was really bugged that they had to wait outside for so long too, she was ready to get going!
Leader of the pack
Her teacher is Mrs. Beaudry...and this is the best picture I got of her since we didn't get to go in. BOO!
READY!
Didn't even look back....
Tear.

KM's 1st Haircut!

I did it. I finally got the guts to give Katelyn a little trim. I was so nervous that her curls would be ruined...but they are still bouncing and as beautiful as always. She was very unsure about it at first and then couldn't stop laughing!! Silly girly!

nine

nine years. it's amazing how much changes in your relationship the more years you are together. i cannot wait until we celebrate 50 + years. i cannot even imagine the love we will have then. we had a great time together even if all our plans fell through. (how does a place run out of reservation times at noon? how is the one movie you want to see completely sold out?)
first timers at tucanos
goodies at goodies
walking and holding hands
best company
doug is daring and loved all the weird food there...sushi and quail eggs for example
i enjoyed the brazilian lemonade...not as exotic...

peace.

We have church at 1:30. Doug is in meetings from 8-11:00, so it makes for a long morning. Today we got ready and went to the temple when Doug finished his meetings. I tell you...it was wonderful. Peaceful, lovely, bright, and beautiful. The girls made temple books. They (Allie) would find a place, sit down and draw what they saw. It was my attempt at having them feel the beauty and spirit there. Katelyn walked around and did stop a few times to draw what she saw. When it was time to leave, she cried. She wanted to stay at the temple. It is glorious and good and I'm so thankful to have a temple here in Boise.

Ward Campout

We camped once this year and it was with our ward. Driving 2 hours for one night on the ground wasn't really what I wanted to do but we ended up having a great time and the girls were in outdoor heaven. Dirt, water slide, fire, friends! Glad we went and had lots of people around to make it more fun! I didn't take a lot of pictures and the ones I did take aren't great quality but we get the idea!
Roasting smores and "starburstes"
Katelyn walked around like this for awhile
I need an 11 year old around my house. There are these 2 girls in our ward that just always take our kids and are so good with them. I love it!
Allie went down this water slide by herself the first time!! Couldn't believe it. She is getting so brave!

Doug's Birthday + Ultrasound

Here I am with Baby Green at 19 weeks.
They scheduled our ultrasound on Doug's 32nd birthday. How fun! We've had several friends to a cake reveal to find out the gender. Since we were having cake that night anyway we thought we'd do it. So we went to the ultrasound and I was a ball of nerves. Everything looked great and healthy and on schedule so I was relieved. She put the gender in an evelope and we left. My awesome and amazing friend, Mallory makes cakes and I asked her if she would be willing to do one for us. So I dropped the envelope off with her and she brought the cake over an hour later. She's seriously amazing. Then I tortured our entire family because we had to wait and have dinner first!
The baby was totally showing off for us...moving it's mouth and waving at us!

Doug chose Panda Express for his birthday dinner and so off we went after he opened his sweet card from Allie.

Haha, Katelyn's face is priceless here. I'm sure this is her true feelings about mom always taking pictures. If only she knew how bad my memory was!

Finally we came home, sang to Doug and cut the cake!
When we saw pink these were the reactions: Allie cried! She wanted it to be a boy so bad. She was devistated. Katelyn was ready to eat cake. Doug and I jumped for joy and were super excited!
This is Allie trying to smile but still frowning and Katelyn ready to eat cake! Ha!!
 Getting a little better...
Can't hold it back. She might be just a little bit excited about it!
So there we have it...3 girls in the Green household. Ready or not!
Doug ended his birthday jamming with his buddies while I watched the finale of the Bachelorette. I'm such a great wife to leave him on his birthday! But he was in his element and pretty happy about it! :)
Here are my Monday night ladies that I love so much!
